Director's Note

A play about state sponsored violence, fascism and corruption in law enforcement which features multiple fake hands, an undercover priest and rabies. Accidental Death of an Anarchist, written barely a year after the events depicted took place, is a break-neck farce about the dangers of unchecked power, the ineffectiveness of the press and the restorative power of power.

Tapping into a long history of political farce, Dario Fo and Franca Rame bring a comedic spin to this topic, though what is so electric about Fo and Rame is that they never ridicule the gravity of the topics discussed, instead the comedy levels further criticism of the police.

Directing this play has been a tremendous challenge and absolute joy. I could not ask for a better group of clowns to have worked on this with than the ones I had.
